They say the best dreams are those that we work the hardest for and I agree ; since I was sixteen I dreamed of seeing my own little slice of journalistic heaven that would be as colourful and as thought provoking as I believed my character to be. When I finally plucked up the courage to create my own site last summer it was like a lightbulb had gone off in my mind and I knew that my future had been rewritten. It was my destiny to become a blogger and whether the world would like it or not I was ready to tell it how it was and I haven't looked back since. I dreamed an impossible dream many claimed but look how far I have come...It seems unreal that here I am a year into blogging having ... read more

A Colour Revolution
There is something so magical about a splash of colour. When others see our world in black and white I see strokes of colour, bursting through my peripheral vision like a hunter targeting its prey. In colour there is hope and in hope is peace and harmony. Love is the colour that makes your heart beat, sadness dwells in deep blue swamps and greens rest by the sea, palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze. Colour is my carpe diem, my life essence, my one true love and in colour there is always meaning. I entered a black and white world, my newborn eyes colorblind but as the first waves of colour infiltrated my vision I was transformed. I was a young girl of colour and as I entered ... read more
November Recap
Considering I only blogged 13 days in November and had been inactive for a whole month as I was building my new site my blog did astoundingly well. Not only did I get nominated for my third award, but my blog views tripled, my social following increased and I was contacted by a record breaking amount of brands including two of the biggest brands in the world right now. It is mind blowing how everything has come together and while there is still so much work to do- I am a perfectionist I am never satisfied- I am happy that my hard work and graft is paying off. It just goes to show that success is measured through strength and determination and while I might be permanently broke even debt ... read more
How To Layer In Winter With ILWF
Lets face it, winter is hardly the season to get excited about sleeveless jumpsuits or dresses, especially when its minus 5 degrees outside and the cold is making your nipples stick out. No siree, I am all for fashion but how can I wear dresses, jumpsuits or playsuits in winter when they are clearly far more suited to the summer landscape than winters frosty terrain? But that is where you and I are wrong, fashion has no rules and sometimes layering can be the key to updating your 'summer otd' and transforming it into a winter appropriate but nevertheless stylish look. Whether its putting a ribbed turtleneck under a playsuit or sneaking a winter ready bomber into the mix, layering has no ... read more

Pink Delight: Shein
Pink. The colour of strawberries dunked in cream. Pink, the shade you turn when embarrassed or in love. Pink, the mark of all things sugary and sweet, the colour of unicorns and candy galore. Oh pink, how you delight me so, so sumptuous, yet demure, not quite the scandalous red not quite the rich purple, oh pink, oh pink my heart grows fonder in your presence. For it was pink that I wore that golden day, on my prom one evening away from school's murky lair, where classmates stood up and took note 'oh how different you look when your not in uniform'. Pink really was my colour and it was pink that showed me the way, for pink enveloped me in a dusky haze, where reality ceased to exist, where ... read more
Change Is Good
It seems like only yesterday that I started blogging; becoming a blogger was an unfulfilled dream of mine that I knew would be the stepping stone to a bigger and brighter future. Sure I was academic and book smart but I knew that I was creative too and I wanted to share that passion with the whole world. What started as a personal style blog evolved into so much more and for many readers it became an honest haven where they could be free to be themselves without judgement or condemnation. As I broadened my content, my role as a fashion blogger developed and I became a fully fledged writer who was confident enough to share her vision, her passion but most of all her story with the world. Yes ... read more
From Milan To Mainstream: Moschino’s Rise To Fame
The UK is currently undergoing a fashion revolution with more people than ever shopping for designer brands, owing in part to reality TV shows , digital influencers and aspirational celebrity endorsements. Throughout all of this, fashion designers are struggling to stay relevant and in 'Vogue'. One brand, however, has not struggled to stay popular. I am talking about Moschino, a label that is as culturally relevant and revered as it was when the label debuted in 1983. Designed by Franco Moschino, the Italian brand is renowned for its outrageous designs which has been worn by celebrity icons like Miley Cyrus, whose avante-garde approach to fashion runs in a similar vein to Moschino's kitsch ... read more
The C- Word
The C-word; it takes our loved ones too soon and breaks apart families. It can ravish you with disease and leave you dead before your time. But sometimes you survive and even when cancer tries to knock you down you come back fighting. Your one of the lucky ones, there are those who are told they only have months to live and all they can do is prepare their loved ones for their departure to the other side. Finding out you, a family member, friend, co-worker or neighbour has cancer is a nasty shock and it can be difficult to learn how to cope when a diagnosis is heard. I have lost people I loved to cancer; some were barely a teen when cancer took hold of them and others were older. When it ... read more
The Moonlight Necklace: Symbol
The moon dips in and out of my vision, a glistening crescent illuminated against the dark canvas that is night. Silver moonlight bathes me in a strange glow, its almost ethereal. I shiver as the winter wind nips me playfully, its a blessing and a curse. The winter holds dark memories, it was when my mother passed that she entered the arms of the moon god and left us, me her moon child behind. We were once so young and now I feel the ravages of time like my mother did all those years ago when she died. My skin is mottled like wizened apples, my frame frail, my vision no longer as clear as it once was. But still years later I come here, the path beyond the valley, the one place where I can ... read more
