Indulgent Christmas Gift Ideas That Are Feel Good

November 20, 2023

She heard Christmas before she saw it. Cascading white veils, the ethereal chorus of nature's whispered hymn. Laughter dancing through the frost-kissed air, imprints of innocence. Each snowflake a fleeting moment of grace and solace. Falling gently, finding their own story. For Christmas was a season of joy, where the world was bathed in a warm and festive light. Though there were Christmases that she wished would be erased from her memory, there were others that made her glow. Christmases where the air was perfumed with sugared cookies. A dusting of icing sugar on the kitchen counter. Indulgence taking hold, with delicacies that made her mouth water. Hot chocolates steeped in marshmallows, ... read more

Unique Autumn Staycation Ideas In The UK

September 30, 2023

The golden hues of summer were fading into autumn. Days growing shorter, the clocks turning back. The verdant lush greens now rich earth tones. A ballet dance of burnt orange leaves. A sip of pumpkin spice latte, frothed milk. Hair trailing down your back, whipped by frantic wind. The air cooler, less kind. Enveloped in a tulmotous storm. Sticky-sweet hazy summer days gone,  a rain cloud in its place. An umbrella splattered with rain-drops, in the hush of morning. Abandoning the world's relentless chase, she'd embark on a short autumn break. Ambrosia for the soul, engulfed in tides of tranquility. But where would she go? She would embrace the beauty of the UK. Discovering unique autumn ... read more

How To Colourblock In Spring With Very UK

February 27, 2023

She could taste spring on the horizon. Creeping warm and green, in the lightness of the springtime sun. Singing sweet melodies as the grass grew long, the first smatterings of daffidols. Vibrant yellow blooms, as sugary as frosting. She heard the familuar buzz, the plump bumblebees engorged with nectar, dozing peacefully. Though the wind blew clouds over the sky, the bee remained content. Coaxed into sleepy oblivion, a dreamlike state. The mountains loomed, and the valleys beckoned, cradled in Mother Nature. The sun still high in the sky, illuminating her in a golden light. Her, who came bequeathed in her finery. A lurid orange midi dress, with puffed ruched sleeves. Emblazoned with green ... read more

Colourful Underwear Styling Hacks With Step One

February 24, 2023

She lay on the couch, wild hair scraped back into an orange headband. Feet caressed by the soft plumpness of the tartan throw, nuzzled in fluff. It was unseasonally quiet outside, the odd toot of a horn. The resounding sound of silence, blissfully sweet. It was rare that she could cherish these moments to herself. Sure, the cats were mewling, looking for attention. Circling around her legs, like she was made out of catnip. But they too settled down, lulled by the dull greyness of the stormy sky outside. Unpreturbed, she hummed to herself wistfully. Looking down at her scaggy underwear, fraying at the seams. Underwear that had seen better days. Though it helped her feel body confident in the ... read more

Quirky Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Joy

February 3, 2023

In a past-life she was an all-seeing romantic. In a blurry, fuzzy kaoledocopic universe, where she seemed to be an outsider looking in. Couples waltzing around her with laughing eyes giggling. Stolen kisses in the shadows of night, declarations of love. Romance lived in happy hearts, her own aching for even a glimpse. Carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, stuck in a cycle of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. A found it hard to let go of the demons that clung onto her so hungrily. So how could she find someone, when she was hurting? How could she manifest her soulmate, when her body was frozen in trauma? But even in her deepest, darkest moments, she found someone. The love of ... read more

Mindful Veganuary Gift Ideas For Every Budget

January 23, 2023

From a young age, her love for animal rights, knew no bounds. Hours spent enveloping stray animals with love, a caress, a hug, a kiss, adoration like they had never seen before. The crumbles of kindness keeping them alive, wishing there was more she could do. Years spent torturing herself, hoping to alleviate their pain. Warm bed, shelter, food, water. An open heart and welcome arms. Stray animals fighting for survival, begging to be let inside. Now, she had three cats of her own, two rescues who were grateful to have a loving home. 12 years ago turned vegetarian, eyes opened to a callous world of torture. Colourful Veganuary Gift Ideas For Foodies

January 19, 2023

There was something sacred about food. A natural cologne, wafting smells of home in euphoric scent. Aromas dancing underneath her nostrils, she breathed it in with sheer ecstacy. On a stormy night, where the thunder crackled outside her window, she craved comfort food. A rich lentil and chickpea ragu bolognese, enveloped in tagliatelle. Smatterings of vegan parmesan scattered atop, garnished with unami rich black garlic. Breathe in, breathe out. Food was more than just a routine to A. It was a way of life. A self-care act that filled her with elation, bubbling away like a crock pot on a stove. An anxiety warrior, that made her feel good from the inside out. Veganuary was her way of coping ... read more

Colourful Christmas Gift Ideas For Quirky Adults

December 16, 2022

The moment she was allowed to buy her own clothes, the colour revolution appeared. Red sumptous velvets and fuschia pinks. Emerald greens and rich jewel tones. Still, it wasn't until recently that she truly allowed herself to experiment with colour. Monochromatic eco-friendly Christmas green essembles, a welcome contrast to the grays and blacks that London was in permenantly. Ochre yellows in a sunshine glaze, cobalt blues with dusky teals. It wasn't just fashion either. A bright bold pink cat tree a welcome pop of colour, a sea of blue-themed paintings lining up the walls. Three cats dozing peacefully on tartan sofas, a heavily stacked bookshelf, with cascading tinsel. For Christmas was a ... read more

Why Newlife Stores Is Reshaping Thrifted Fashion

August 25, 2022

Discovering thrifting, was like finding love at first sight. Rails of shirts, dresses, and skirts gleamed enticingly under the glare of the shop lights, imploring me to come closer. Despite the musty smell that emanated, I fell hard. A young teen on a budget, who had just started her first job, taught to be precacious with money. It was like Christmas had come early, aisles full of treasure that sparkled oh so gloriously. 7o's flouncy maxi skirts, and 60's mini's, 50's petticoats, and 90's chokers, a crash course into fashion history. There were vintage fashion accessories too; faux pearl layered necklaces, and chunky belts. Those [at the time] trendy UGG boots, that you waved around like it ... read more

Vintage Fashion Accessories That Changed History

May 16, 2022

I love time-travelling back into fashion eras, that define fashion history. Sure, I was born in the 90's (button jewels or covers will never get old) but my escapism is rooted in the 60's and 70's, with a hint of the 50's. My personal style is eclectic, a mix of trends, Parisian 40's style berets, and 60's style skirts. Eccentric floral prints, from the 70's, with 90's style jewellery. A touch of art deco creeping in from the 30's, and petticoat swing dresses from the 50's a delightful blend. I don't follow trends per say, but its undeniable that I love vintage fashion. Why? Because it takes me back into the past, experiencing an era I didn't live in, like watching an old movie. Its ... read more
