5 Floral Print Blouses You Need This Summer

June 9, 2017

Ah, there is nothing like a floral print blouse to get you in the mood for summer. From off the shoulder to kimono style blouses, the floral print can make any garment look stellar. While florals are commonly associated with 50’s tea dresses and vintage, the floral print has been updated for S/S 17, with brands like Quiz and Zaful, using florals as a feature print in a way that is new and fresh. From tropical floral blouses inspired by ‘summer beach trips’ to choker blouses with a moody floral print, one thing is for certain, florals are going nowhere this season.

Let Faded Spring take you on a ride through floral town with 5 of the best floral print blouses that you need in your life right now. Let the countdown begin!

  1. The Floral Choker Blouse

<img src="ana.jpg" alt="ana floral embroidered shirt dress yoshop">

While the 90’s was infamous for its love of leather and charm chokers, 2017 saw a surge in chokers that were more romantic, flouncy and in some cases were attached to tops, to add dimension to a look. Chokers help elongate the neck and attached to a blouse, can make it transform from ‘frumpy’ to sexy, all through that one key detail. What I love about this floral choker blouse is how the colours and even the floral print is muted, moody even which while not a traditional choice for ‘summer wear’ is sophisticated and elegant. Plus the moody floral print does have a pop of colour with the orange blossoms and set against a navy blue background creates a beautiful contrast.

There are many ways that you can style the floral choker blouse and I have listed some options below

2.The Floral Ruffle Blouse

<img src="ana.jpg" alt="ana mom jeans shein">

Nothing says romance more than a ruffled tier top or dress. Imagine then how much more the romance is heightened when you use a floral feature print, in a delicate shade of white and peach? To capture the essence of romance and love, look for tops that have billowing tiered sleeves or an off the shoulder neckline, to really heighten the passion. Whether you are after a floral ruffle blouse that has sex appeal or want something a little more demure for the office, there is guaranteed to be a ruffle blouse made especially for you.

3.  The Floral Mesh Blouse

<img src="ana.jpg" alt="ana floral embroidered mesh bodysuit">

Not all blouses have to be long sleeved, as the examples below demonstrate. Featuring  luxe embroidered rose detailing, these floral mesh blouses are the perfect ‘top’ to transform from day to night. Wear with a maxi skirt for casual summer strolls or with a pair of rolled up embroidered jeans for a comfortable but chic look. By night pair with a matching embroidered floral mesh skirt or even layer on top of a dress for maximum style points.

4. Floral Cold Shoulder Blouses

Nothing says summer more than cold shoulder blouses, whose cut-away detailing is ever so adorable. Wear bright summer colours like lemon yellow to capture the essence of summer or buy a floral print blouse that features a ruffle and cold shoulder design, to nail this summers biggest trends. While blouses are associated with being ‘prim’ there is nothing prissy about these cold shoulder blouses below, so you too can be part of the ‘cold shoulder gang’!

5. Floral Off The Shoulder Bardot Blouses

<img src="ana.jpg" alt="ana cold shoulder embroidered shirt ">

While bardot style tops might be notoriously restricting, they are beautiful and after all no pain no gain right? From embroidered bardot blouses to off the shoulder ruffle blouses, the off the shoulder trend is flattering for all shapes and sizes. Off the shoulder blouses are not only versatile but they are also relatively cheap, with many styles coming in under £20, perfect for bargain hunters like myself. Whether you choose an oriental blossom print or are more a fan of understated minimal floral detailing, find an off the shoulder blouse to match your taste below.

    My favourite floral print trend is definitely the floral ruffle blouse. Floral patterns have to be sweet for me to pull them off, or at least feel like I do. 🙂 x

    I think the bardot is my favourite. I think it’s such a flattering style and I would wear it with jeans and sandals for a more casual day time look. You look amazing in them all though!

    Stunning! The floral ruffle blouse is my favourite. I really wanted to start wearing Bardot tops this year but I’m sure I have strap lines already, I should have been using my factor 50!

    Floral prints are sooo fresh and I went on a trip to Zara a few days ago and I noticed LOTS of men’s clothes have floral prints as well. I may or may not jump on the board haha! I like clothes with holes in them – LOL – rather more honestly xx

    I’ve been on the hunt for some new blouses for summer, and am loving your picks! Floral seems to be all the rage with the college girls this summer, I was riding my bike through campus the other day and couldn’t help but notice all of the pretty flower patterns. ps: I never paid attention until I started following a few (and very cool) fashion bloggers! Out of all the looks, I like the floral mesh the best. It’s sexy, yet sophisticated.

    These are very exciting looks despite the fact that florals are everywhere almost every summer. I love the eclectic and edgy look you have styled with the floral mesh top. The skirt and boots work really well with the top and overall a unique look. Well done!
