The Quest For The Ultimate Cactus LED Light
In the sweltering eye of the desert lies a barren wasteland, a mirage where water ceases to exist. In the empty solitude of the open desert lies a heap of broken plants, too tired to battle the force of the scorching sun rays. The sun’s harsh glare is no match for these weak saplings, broken by the sun’s gush of unbridled passion. But beneath the dust heap of broken plants was a mirage of green, thick bristly areoles adorned with flowers, succulents brimming with water conserved for survival. Who are these mythical green creatures? No other than the infamous cacti of course, able to withstand the driest of climatic planes and barely breaking a sweat in the process. The cactus’s stand tall and proud, green warriors in a land defined by ‘brown’ and a ‘barren’ brown at that. Out in the wild desert there is a whisper of silence, the soft whistle of the wind gathering its puppets, the plants of the desert. No soul could exist in such a climate, where the only human contact is brow beaten travelers, trudging through the human enemy that is the desert. But the cactus’s still stand tall, waiting for its chance to escape the desert and move into human culture, one step at a time.
It’s no surprise then that the warrior of the plants and sovereign of the desert, has proved to be so popular in interior design, especially during a sweltering hot summer. The cacti had a resurgence in popularity this month and cactus fever has well and truly erupted into mainstream popularity with dresses, shoes, homeware and DIY hacks centered around the infamous succulent species. Sass and Belle have proved to be no exception with their cult offering of cacti-themed gifts. During the construction of their innovative ‘homeware’ and ‘gift’ summer lookbook, cactus’s appeared to take center stage with a cactus LED light, hip flasks and colourful cacti wrapping paper clamoring for our undivided attention. But there was no other cactus that claimed my heart more than the Cactus LED Light Wall Decoration (pictured) which was fun, whimsical and brought a hint of summer to my otherwise dull, gray room. Taken from the ‘Colourful Cactus Collection’ , the cactus LED light is perfect for modern interiors that have a quirky edge. Or if your little box room ( ahem mine) is in need of some ‘fun’ and ‘sunshine’ then the cactus light is guaranteed to inject some colour and vibrancy into the room’s aesthetic.
At £21 the cactus is a steal and will inevitably transport you into a tropical paradise, where cactus’s long to exist/dwell beyond the long desert stretch. So give those Cactus’s a welcome break from the arid heat of the desert and transform them into party loving, siesta fanatics who will dance no matter what time of night you drag them home. Think I am joking? Then ask my little cactus who has never ceased to entertain me since it arrived into my life two weeks ago. One thing is for certain this cactus may not be life size but it sure packs a punch in the entertainment department! And i’m not the only one to tout the benefits of having a cactus in my room. After all a cactus is a symbol of warmth, protection, endurance and care according to Native American Culture, because they ‘survive in harsh conditions’, persevere despite their hardships and represent tenacity and resilience. So no matter what your interpretation of cactus’s are, whether you have a real succulent or a symbolic version one, this cactus trend is entrenched in powerful roots beyond your imagining.
If you are as quirky as me then the appeal of a lone cacti peering over your bed is probably your idea of heaven. Picture yourself jamming in your room, headphones on and the candles are lit. You’re feeling chilled but there is one thing missing… ambiance. So who you ‘gonna call’? Sass and Belle of course, your number one Cactus LED light provider. Telling porkies? Nuh Uh, I tell you its Faded Spring ‘gold star’ certified. The cactus LED light ticks all the boxes; fun, young and full of life, the cactus will never cease to entertain all night long. Or if you prefer your light to be silent and static then it makes for a rather charming yet quirky wall accessory that will never fail to pique guests interest. Be the talk of the town with a cactus that will entertain and delight in equal measure and start a new trend that moves away from the ever popular flamingo pool floats. It might be autumn soon in the UK but cactus’s (unlike flamingos) never go out of style. Its transitional appeal is widespread and whilst you might not be rocking a cacti float (although how cool would that be?!) your light is practical, fun and usable just like the resilient real cacti itself. Quite often summer turns us into crazed, novelty loving buyers obsessed with pom poms, colour and trash-fash and yet the cacti is one novelty that I can bet will be here to stay no matter how many years have passed. Want to test my theory out? Then head over to Sass and Belle and get yourself a cactus light to go and dance your summer nights away.Go on, treat yourself you adorable little party animal!
