Feel Alive With Teami Energy
Since I was seventeen I have been suffering with acute insomnia which left me feeling physically and emotionally drained and it was a struggle to get through each day. With an average of four hours sleep each night and a hectic lifestyle I would battle through severe brain fog and chronic pain to hoist myself out of bed. Many of us take sleep for granted but for us insomniacs or poor sleepers it greatly affects our quality of life. For parents being unable to sleep means long days and nights struggling to stay energized and looking after children, teens or worrying about their adult sons and daughters and for insomniacs like me it can make the mornings physically painful. You see I have ... read more
Winning Best British Blogger With Debenhams
It was the moment I had been waiting for all my life; acknowledgement that my passion and dedication to writing was proving fruitful. Since I was a little girl writing became the one friend I could turn to that listened to me without judgement. As human beings it seems as though we have automated 'critique buttons' that make us constantly undermine the people around us but my pen never did that to me. It taught me to love and loathe in equal measure and gave me the strength to be whole again. But I didn't always want to write; growing up I had dreams of becoming a singer one minute and the next I believed that teaching was my calling. I used to write from the sidelines as a hobby, cultivated ... read more

The Quest For Perfect Eyebrows
Since I was a little girl I have been on the quest for perfect eyebrows; growing up I was bullied because I had naturally thick and unruly dark eyebrows that I was told were making me look 'masculine'. I would be called names and peers would point and laugh at my unibrow because I was not allowed to pluck, tweeze or thread any body hair as I was told I was not old enough. When I was a child I thought nothing of my body hair, dressing up in skirts and unaware of my facial hair and how others would perceive it. It wasn't until secondary school that I realized how 'different' it made me and growing up in a predominantly white school, my heritage was seen as alien and familiar. So I discovered ... read more
