5 Anti Aging Tips For Younger Looking Skin

February 16, 2019

Contrary to popular belief, learning how to ‘look after your skin’ and protect it against the signs of aging, is not something that you start to think about in your 40’s, oh no. No matter how old  you are, whether you are 25 or 42, anti aging products, a healthier, well balanced lifestyle and facial yoga, can all do wonders to ‘reverse’ aging by decreasing fine lines, improving skin tone and minimizing dark spots which all come with the natural process of aging. While some might choose to look at surgical changes such as botox or fillers, if natural remedies to ‘slow down’ the aging process as opposed to ‘stopping it’ is more your cup of tea, then read on to discover the best 5 anti aging tips for younger looking skin. From eating your own sunscreen to using top anti wrinkle creams such as Stemuderm, who says that preventing against anti-aging has to be complicated? Not me.

1.Get More Beauty Sleep And Shun The Late Nights

As a certified insomniac, the idea of me telling you to get more beauty sleep and to shun the late nights might come  across as laughable. After all I go to bed late, sleep less hours than the norm and usually feel exhausted and drained. But here’s the T, despite my lack of beauty sleep, as insomnia is a medical condition it can be difficult to get enough beauty sleep, so this rule refers to people who don’t have trouble sleeping , but are finding that the late nights are taking a toll on not just their mental health but also their physical wellbeing, as they notice their skin looking ‘tired’ and ‘drained’. The reason why lack of sleep takes a toll on ‘skin’ so extensively is because we ‘need shut eye’ to enable skin repair and new cell growth, thus when you’re tired you tend to get stressed easily and crave junk food – both of which are notorious agers. Not only does getting 8 hours sleep contribute to a calmer mental state and reduce bad eating habits but also when you sleep your skin repairs itself and new cells grow to replace older ones. The growth hormone functions only at night, so beauty sleep is more than a myth. We are as a species diurnal after all…

But if like me you have insomnia, how can you prevent against ‘late nights’ when you can’t sleep? While there is no set remedy or cure for bad sleeping habits, what you can do is create a better ‘sleeping routine’ by stopping work at a reasonable time, relaxing in bed before midnight if possible creating a calm mental state as you prepare to sleep, as well as anything else that makes you feel sleepy such as reading a book that is calm inducing and leaves you feeling tranquil and rested. After all our skin can truly improve with less stress, better beauty sleep and a more effective sleeping routine.

2. Try Out Facial Yoga To Improve Your Skins Elasticity

Did you know that yoga is not just beneficial for the mind and body, but that yoga can also improve your skins elasticity too? After all it makes sense seeing that if we don’t engage in ‘physical activity’ then our bodies will slacken which is just as applicable to our skin too, whose muscles loosen with age. So the more that you move your face, the more younger your skin will look, just as the more active you are in exercising your body, the more supple it can be. But how does facial yoga enable your skin to look and feel fresher I hear you ask? Is this just another ‘beauty fad’? Well Facial Yoga is a good technique for stress-busting which is important in the fight against ageing as stress can accelerate skins ageing by up to 10 years. Not only does facial yoga reverse or pause our skin’s aging but it also creates a ‘pain free natural face lift’ that improves the skins suppleness and elasticity.

3. Use Anti Wrinkle Or Anti Aging Creams To Decrease Fine Lines

One of the most effective ways to reduce the skins signs of aging is to use anti-wrinkle or anti aging creams and products, but finding a cream that hasn’t just been hyped by ‘media propaganda’ can be difficult. After all when so many creams claim to create a reduction in ‘crows feet’, fine lines and improvement in skin tone but fail to deliver it can be difficult to ascertain which creams are worth an investment and which products have no scientific proof whatsover that backs their claim to create younger looking skin. Which is why if you are looking for the best wrinkle cream to prevent against anti aging, then you should look no further than Solvaderm, whose products such as Stemuderm, Eyevage, Ace-Ferulic and Juvabrite are all proven to deliver results. Lets look at Eyevage as an example; suitable for oily, combination , redness and acne prone skin, as well as being suitable for all ages, Eyevage is a multi-action age-defying cream developed by leading dermatologists to address the varied and complex issues that most commonly affect the look of mature skin in the eye area. Not only does the anti aging cream improve the appearance of micro circulation underneath our eyes, but it is also infused with healing antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to soothe skin and render it better protected from environmental damage and oxidative stress. With the addition of conditioning moisturizers, Eyevage invigorates the entire eye contour which allows the skin to appear brighter and younger looking.
It just goes to show that some skincare brands do have your back when it comes to turning back the clocks on aging…

4. Consume Lower Quantities Of Sugar To Stop The Production Of Glycation

We have all been told that a diet high in sugar is bad for our health, but did you know it is also bad for our skin too? After all a diet high in sugar accelerates the process of glycation which ages skin. Sounds terrible right? Well you might be wondering what glycation is, how it speeds up the aging process and affects how youthful your skin looks. Well Glycation is excess glucose from the blood-stream binds to the skin’s ‘youth proteins’ (the collagen and elastin that makes youthful complexions appear so plump and doughy) and instead turns them brittle and stiff.” By making the ‘youth proteins’ go brittle, your skin as a result appears more ‘stiff’ as a result. So while sugar in moderation is ok, indulging in high levels of sugar can have a brutal effect on your skin.

So why not stock up on foods that are high in anti-aging oxidants such as dark berries (like blueberries and blackberries), avocados and green vegetables such as kale and spinach?

5. Eat Foods That Are High In Lycopene The Skins Own SPF

While we are often told to use SPF to protect our skin against UVA and UVB rays, did you also know that our skin has it’s own SPF which is prevalent in foods such as dark chocolate, tomato paste and green tea? This is because these foods have all been found to increase lycopene, the skin’s own SPF, which is a a red carotenoid pigment present in tomatoes and many berries and fruits. Not only has it been proven to boost your sun protection by 33% but it also improves cognition, is thought to decrease your skin cancer risk and alleviates Neuropathic Pain making it an antioxidant that is proven to deliver. So whether you choose to cook up a Spag Bol (as tomato paste is one of the best soruces of lycopene) drink green tea or eat dark chocolate (which is high in flavonoids that can help protect against sunburn) make use of your skins natural SPF today!
