For those of you who have followed my ‘housing journey’, you will know that over the last 4 years I have moved a grand total of 8 times, and three times in the year and a half that I have been in London. From house to house I would move, not because I wanted to but out of necessity, while working long hours and having next to no social life. But then when I found my current place, I was ‘tired of moving’ and wanted a room where I could feel at home and didn’t have to hide myself away from others. I loved the area, I loved my room and most importantly, despite its ups and downs, my room I am in now is the best room I have had since I was in my third year of university and that is saying a lot. I was very into ‘renovating my bedroom’ when I was at university and I found that it was a welcome respite from the ‘madness’ of the university world. I would adorn it with stylish bedroom lighting that would transform my bedroom into a magical paradise, that I could escape to at night, while the walls were filled with portraits and memories from years past. But as we move to present, it has been a while since I have been able to ‘personalize my room’, with all the many moves that I have had over the years, so when a friend asked me if ‘ I would like to find a place with her’ I simply told her the truth, that I was tired of moving and just wanted a room to call my own.
At heart I am a homebody; despite what my moves might suggest, I am not very good at coping with ‘change’ and having a room to call my own these last 11 months, has been the longest I have stayed in one place since I was 17. Despite the dramas and the housemates that have come and gone, I feel like now is the right time to make my bedroom my own. I want crystal chandeliers that glisten in the dark, watching as the crystals catch the light, like diamonds. I want a memory foam mattress that I can sink into gratefully when the world goes to sleep, luxuriating in the promise of a better nights sleep. Most of all, the idea of ‘renovating my bedroom’ that speaks volumes about my character and who I am as a person, will be the perfect antidote to the world outside, which is full of anger and hate. I want to create a bedroom that is bathed in positivity, a secure haven, where I can read, eat and study to my hearts content. And who better to make my dream of a more positive and personalized ‘bedroom’ come true than Taskers The Home Store?
Known as the country’s leading independent ‘DIY and Home Store’ , Taskers ‘The Home Store is not just an ‘outlet’ that offers ‘bedroom renovation supplies’ like ‘opulent luxury lighting’ but it also offers DIY, plumbing, heating supplies, decorating supplies and garden furniture, making it a well rounded store to not only ‘renovate your bedroom’ but also to transform your home into a place that both you and ‘guests’ can enjoy. So even if your bedroom is ‘in your eyes’ the epitome of ‘perfection’, there might be other areas in your house like your ‘back garden’ that is in need of a ‘new lease of life’. Whether that be through ‘recliners’ or sun loungers that can allow you to soak up the warming rays of the golden sun, after a hard days work mowing the lawn, or adding ‘laminate flooring’ to your kitchen, to replace the drab carpet that was there before, no other ‘online home store’ offers more versatility when it comes to DIY renovation in the home. The question is, when it comes to ‘renovating my bedroom’ what exactly do I want to add to my room, to give it the ‘personal characterization’ that it so needs? From crystal chandeliers in ‘polished chrome’ to rustic bedside tables, complete with draws and capacity for a ‘bedside lamp’ , read on below to find out what has made my ‘wishlist’ for renovating my bedroom this season…
Crystal Chandelier Lighting: Best For Those Who Breathe Luxury
Imagine stepping into a room, that sparkles as you walk in, a room that is swathed in luxury and opulence. A 13 Light Pendant Polished Chrome, takes center stage, the crystal beads wrapped lovingly around the magnificent light installation, that commands power in every mischievous glint. Or if crystal chandeliers are too grand for your tastes then maybe a minimalist light flush fixture, has enough dazzle and sparkle to bring your bedroom back to life. With a range of lighting fixtures to suit all tastes and budgets, there really is something for everyone at Taskers The Home Store.
My personal favourite is the Searchlight Bloomsbury 6 Light Chrome Crystal Chandelier, which bears similarities to the 13 light in polished chrome but is not quite as large and has that delicious combination of moderns meets renaissance design. With clear crystal buttons and drops that hark back to an age, where lighting took centre stage juxtaposed with the chrome finish which creates a ‘modern edge’, the range of lighting fixtures at Taskers, are all centered around the concept of modern renaissance design, to resurrect a dying art form. The result is unmistakably elegant, stylish and undoubtedly breathtaking.
Rustic Bedside Tables And Cabinets: Best For Those Who Are ‘Country Bumpkins’ At Heart
While crystal based ornaments will be an ideal touch for renovating my bedroom in style, despite my move to the ‘big city’ there is still a part of me that is very much attuned to my ‘country bumpkin origins’. And what better to get back in touch with nature than through a rustic bedside table and cabinet, that is as far from ‘pompous and grand’ as you are going to get! From a Rustic 3 Drawer Bedside constructed from ‘reclaimed wood’ to a bedside table made from solid Ash and veneer, nothing says ‘countryside aesthetic’ more than some rustic oak bedroom furniture.
But if modern and fabulous is more your personal taste then Taskers also have silver, crystal and mirrored glass bedside tables and cabinets, to bring a touch of sparkle into your bedroom renovations. You could even mix and match with a rustic oak drawer and a mirrored glass drawer to create a juxtaposition between both the old and the new but also the traditional and the modern, merging binary opposites together.
Comfortable Memory Foam Mattresses: Best For Those Who Are In Need Of A Good Night’s Sleep
No bedroom renovation is complete without a good nights sleep and what better to send you into a blissful dreamland sleep than a memory foam mattress, that is guaranteed to have you waking up with a smile on your face? All of Taskers memory foam mattresses are made to order to fit your body’s needs meaning that no two mattresses are the same. Dedicated to their craft of providing you with a better nights sleep, their memory form not only supports you with an almost weightless feel, but it also has many advantages like durability, increasing blood circulation and the use of pressure relieving memory foam that is used to contour to the shape of your body. So if you have back or joint problems, the memory foam mattress will aid the correct alignment of the spine and have zones of ‘firmer springs’ which effectively relieve pressure build up in the shoulders and lumbar areas.
As someone whose mattress is definitely on its way out to mattress heaven, I could definitely use the touch of the ‘mattress angel’ to bring me a memory foam mattress that will make sleepless nights an issue at the past. The question is what mattress would I choose?
Dressing Table Mirrors:Best For Those Who Like To Look At Themselves In The Mirror 24/7
Call me vain, but trying on a ‘potential outfit’ or doing your makeup without a mirror can sometimes have disastrous consequences, leaving you walking out the door with unblended makeup and eyeshadow up to your eyebrows. Now I’m no makeup expert, but a mirror at least can help you look less like a child who has been in the make up kit again and more like someone who actually knows how to put make up on. And as for fashion, there have been times where I have walked out the door thinking I look ‘sickening’ and then looked at myself in the reflection of a shop window and almost gasped in horror. Yep, we sure need a mirror to get us through life. And its not just for making sure we ‘don’t look busted’ for when we leave the house (Halloween is not for another 8 months GURL) but is great for exercise, dance routines and even for creating magical tone deaf performances that only your beloved mirror can enjoy. Mainly because it is an inanimate object and can’t howl in pain, but you get my drift.
So whether you need a mirror to whisper affirmations to yourself or just enjoy looking at yourself in the mirror 24/7 , there is nothing more beautiful than a mirror that has eyes for only you. From a small LED mirror that is perfect for applying your makeup to a larger rectangular mirror that you can dance in front of, choose a mirror that best represents you.

Haha, so true that we need mirrors… I can’t imagine not having one to put makeup on. As for bedroom plans – I want to add bookcases behind my bed!

I am actually in the process of renovating the bedroom of both my daughter and I. I really could use a great memory foam mattress. I had one when I was with my ex but she walked away with that. Ah well. And I like the furniture here too. What I am really looking into doing is getting a new smaller bedframe. I would like a little more space in my bedroom, and until that lucky day I find someone else to be in a relationship with, I don’t need the extra space in my bed. Looks like you have some great ideas here. I like the LED lighting you have with the light.
