Decorating My Bedroom With Love The Sign

When I came to London a year and a half ago, I thought that I had found my forever home. Little did I know that in the space of a year, I would move three times, deal with infestation and inappropriate landlords, until I found my perfect home in East London. Near the central line, with a bustling high street and street art nearby, the town suited me down to a T and despite the ups and downs that I have had in the room that I rent, it has been the longest I have stayed in a house for two years, as in January it would have been 10 months since I moved in. I used to dream of how I would decorate my home, there would be colourful, quirky ornaments and paintings would hang on the walls, overlooking bookshelves, straining under the weight of all the books I had in my room. There would be a desk for me, with a hard backed chair and a nearby clock would tick 1,2,3 keeping procrastination at bay. There would be a desk lamp to keep me going through long winter nights as I work on my blog and a mug of steaming cocoa waiting for me to take a break. The Hard Backed Chair To Improve My Posture 

What desk would be complete without a hard backed chair to add to the collection? It would be minimalist and simple in style and be the additional step that I need to work on my posture. All too often, whether that be on tubes or sitting in bed, I would lay hunched over, old before my time, slumped and lacking in motivation. But a chair on the other hand, what a magical weapon that would be. I would take my chair with me to street art shoots and fly away on the magic carpet that would take me to my mermaid kingdom. I would furrow my brow in concentration as I straddled my chair, churning out countless articles, like a well oiled machine. Most of all I would have a little ‘wee chair’ to call my own, that I could escape to and curl in like a cat if I chose. Now that’s a pleasant thought…

For those who aren’t the best at ‘timekeeping’ (AKA ME) a dandy clock to help you keep track of time is far better than a mobile that will distract you with Tinder Messages popping up every five seconds. OK that might be somewhat of an exaggeration, I have 1,000 rather than 5,000 books but you ya know being placed on top of my wardrobes and cupboards is not what I would really call a proper ‘housing place’. I used to have the most amazing bookcase when I lived in a house with my friends in third year of university, but sadly it was lost along the way so I am in need of a new bookcase pronto. Whether you prefer traditional wooden bookcases or are more of a fan of coloured bright bookcases that would make any mermaid proud, why not turn your room into a library?Lets face it there is only so much TV that you can watch and swiping through Tinder can get pretty boring. Thus transporting yourself into a magical world back in time, while the world turns to s**t around you sounds like a much better alternative!
