When it cames to online gaming, you don’t need to spend money to have fun. After all there are amazing free online video games that you can play on your PC or mobile, without spending a penny. Whether you love puzzle games, fancy yourself as the ultimate card game extraordanaire, or are passionate about simulation games, why not have a fun virtual game night at home, and let the madness begin? Consider yourself to be a master of solitaire? There’s a free game for that! Love nothing more than going into fantasy land in Fall Guys? Yep, you guessed it, it is 100% free. As someone who is dating a gamer boyfriend, there is nothing more that we love than playing Mario games, getting competitive and losing our s**t over who is winning or losing.
Gaming is a great way to bring couples together, strengthen family bonds and is a fantastic way to take time out, as a solo player who needs to unwind. Take it from me. I am a bonafide retro gamer girl, who adores playing games like The Sims Freeplay, an amazing free mobile game (with in-app purchases), Mario Party and Sonic The Hedgehog. While my partner loves shooting and investigative games, playing simulation games, card games, and party games fill me with such joy, that my mood is automatically lifted. And that’s the T, despite its bad reputation, gaming is actually extremely uplifting, and can boost your mental health significicantly. In fact, a study from Oxford University shows that people who played more games tended to report greater “wellbeing”. Using real gameplay data for the first time, research demonstrated that playing a game like ‘Animal Crossing’ for four hours a day, made you a happier human being overall.
From a personal point of view, whether I play free games online, or on my smartphone, it feels like I am taking time out and investing in my self-care. It engages all my senses, heightens my critical thinking skills, and helps keep me sharp, so that I can get back to work feeling refreshed and rejuvanated. There is also a social element to gaming, which was incredible during lockdown when we were seperated from our loved ones. I was able to keep the fun alive in my relationship, and was able to play with friends online, so we didn’t feel so alone during the pandemic. It wasn’t a miracle cure, but gaming certainly made us feel happier, gave us something to do during lockdown, and helped us feel connected, when we couldn’t see our loved ones.
Gaming is escapism, and is more than just a ‘surface-level’ outlet for us to have fun, but is also empowering too. It can help us feel confident, and be more comfortable with what we want out of life, and who we want it from. It challenges us to try something new, and go out of our comfort zone to challenge our personal boundaries. Above all playing free online video games allows us to take our ‘mind off reality’ and temporarily escape from the worries of our everyday life, in a way that is healthy, and cathartic. You aren’t burying your problems per say, you are simply having a breather, and focusing on something that makes you truly happy. So what type of gamer are you? Are you a avid gamer, a part-time online game enthuasist, or are you a social gamer? Whatever your gaming preference, I have got the best free games for your PC, that will have you smiling from ear to ear. So what are you waiting for, get your gamer face on now!
Mutiple Free Online Game Marketplaces
Why play one free online game, when you have access to card games, puzzle games, classic games, retro games and even casino games? Online game marketplaces as I like to call them are great, because you can download free games on your PC, and try a new game everyday!
Plays.Org
If you are looking for free online video games which can be played directly in your web-browser, then you will love Plays.Org. Not only do you not have to download it into your computer, saving it storage and space, but you also get hundreds of free games, ranging across genres like ‘Player Favourites’, Cartoon Games, Arcade Classics and Simulation Games to name a few. My personal favourite? I am obsessed with Adventure Time, so imagine my delight when I found ‘Adventure Break The Worm Game’, a classic ‘Beat Em Up Game’. You get to play Finn trapped in a nightmare , who is on a quest to defeat a worm. He must battle through three worlds, where each world unlocks a new magical power. Suitable for kids and adults alike, this is a must play PC game for Adventure Time Enthusiasts. Journey your way through the Ice Kingdom, Dad’s Dungeon and Candy Kingdom, and do your best to defeat that naughty worm.
If you love simulation games as much as I do, then Tap Supermarket Online is so much fun. While it is simple, it is surprisingly addictive. You need to check out the customers who are waiting, keep the store stocked, so that customers have the food they want, and expand your inventory to keep customers satisfied. After all, you want your supermarket to be the hottest supermarket in town! When you have enough money, you can buy a second checkout line, so that customers don’t get angry when they are kept waiting. The premise is self-explanatory but trust me it is a lot of fun. If you are having a hard day at work, playing a free game can give you the stress relief that you so need.
Enjoy cartoon games as much as I do? Anyone who is a fan of retro classics, will enjoy playing Mr Bean Backyard Junk, a fun and simple cleaning cartoon game. You must control a cartoon version of MR Bean, in an effort to clean up the yard without getting hit. While the first level is quite easy, the difficulty level does increase, so trust me when I say that you will whittle away hours of fun. Make sure that you avoid all Mr Bean’s enemies and keep collecting trash until the trash meter is full, and the level is beat. Beware of how you control the mouse or your keypad though, as you could end up putting MR Bean in the bin, instead of the trash, which I did many times. It is funny, but not the aim of the game!

Free Online Card Games
Looking for free online card games that you can play as a solo player, or with friends and loved ones? Relax, I have got you. From obscure card games like Evil Apples: You Against Humanity, to cult classics like Crazy Eights, there will never be a dull moment.
Crazy Eights
Want a card game that you can play with all the family? Crazy Eights is a fun shedding-type card game for two to seven players, that is extremely kid-friendly. Similar to Switch and Mau Mau, the object of the game is to be the first player to discard all their cards. While this was originally played by children with left over cards not used in Euchre, the game that we know and love today dates back to the 1940s in the United States. Each player is dealt seven cards, and the remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table, forming a draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned face up to start the discard pile next to it.
You can play any card of the same suit as the one at the top of the pile. Example: There’s a club at the top of the pile, you can play any club.If you have no card that you can play you can draw up to 3 cards from the deck. You can’t draw if you have any cards that you can play in your hand. If you’ve drawn 3 cards and still can’t play you must pass and the next player plays. If you have an eight you can always play, and change the suit to whatever you want. The game will then prompt you for the suit after you click the eight. For example, there might be a spade on the pile, and you have hearts, so you change the suit to hearts to have the upper hand.
So how does the game end? Well the game finishes the moment the last card from someone’s hand is played (or when noone can match the last card). The player who went out collects payment from each opponent equal to the total face value of cards remaining in that opponents hand. If the game ‘blocks’ the player who has the lowest total for the held cards scores the difference in totals with each opponent. If you are in a four hand partnership game though, both partners must go out to end the game.
Evil Apples: You Against Humanity
One of the best online card games that is out there is Evil Apples, an adult-only game that will have you rolling with laughter. Imagine Cards Against Humanity, but the mobile and PC version, which is completely free. Perfect for playing card games online with your friends, this game is best for people who have a crude sense of humour, and don’t take themselves too seriously. Whether you play with complete randos, or with friends, there are 4,000+ answer cards and 1000+ question cards. Never boring, Evil Apples, will have you questioning your integrity as a human being. What would your answer to the question ‘My friends and I basically only use Snapchat for sending each other pictures of’…. be? Well a human sized duck wearing a shirt and no pants’ might be the answer you are looking for.
Not naughty enough for you? Well, have you ever wondered what is ‘behind every successful man’? You have a choice between ‘an anal bum cover’ or the ‘Mormon Church’. Its up to you to decide. Rude, definitely not PC and a little on the nose, if you are looking for free online video games for adults, then Evil Apples is the game for you. You can join anywhere using SMS, Twitter or Facebook and join Random Blitz Mode games to go fast with strangers. Have cards you don’t get like? Get rid of them ASAP. You even have the option to write ‘Wildcards’ with fully customizable text, and unlock expansion packs for extra cards against your friends. What’s cool is that you even get an ‘in-game chat’ so you can chat with your fellow players, and get the party vibes going.
Remember, each game requires at least 3 people, and has a player who is appointed as a judge to decide who has the winning card. The first player who gets to seven points is the winner, and each win is worth one point. This game is best played by adults, and is definitely not a kid-friendly game, so just bear that in mind when you are choosing to play, as there is a ‘messaging’ feature where you connect with strangers. If you are an adult though, welcome to one of the most fun card games that you will ever play. PERIOD.

Free Shooting, Survival And Investigation Online Games
The popularity of shooter, survival and investigation games are vast, so it should come as no surprise that free online video games have caught on. Whether you are a Fortnite, Among Us or Fall Guys gamer, there is choice to suit you!
Fortnite
Fortnite is a free to play Battle Royale survival game where 100 players fight against each other in player versus player combat to be the last one standing. It is a fast-paced, action-packed game, not unlike The Hunger Games, where strategic thinking is a must in order to survive. With numerous game modes for every type of game player, you can watch a concert, build an island or fight. With over 125 million players on Fortnite, there are four major game modes in Fortnite. These four modes are: Battle Royale, Party Royale, Creative, and Save the World. Battle Royale is where you must battle it out to be the last one remaining.
Or team up with friends or other players to outlast other teams. Use the power of wood, brick, and metal to build structures to help you out.Looking for something different?Party Royale is a mode within Battle Royale. Instead of battling, Party Royale is an experimental and evolving space that focuses on no sweat, all chill fun. Attractions include aerial obstacle courses, boat races, movies, and even live concerts from top artists! Some previous artists include Drake, Travis Scott, Diplo and Steve Aoki, making Fortnite’s Party Royale the ultimate hang out.
Want to be in charge of your own island? Fortnite Creative is the right mode for you, where you can create your own game and rules. You can design simple or complex games, create your own scenery and make the best island on Fortnite. If you want something a little more dramatic, Save the World helps you explore a destructible world. You and the other players must team up to hold back hordes of monsters. In your fight against these monsters, you can become stronger by finding loot, crafting weapons, and expanding your collection of Heroes. Build a base and fortify it with traps to keep the Husks at bay!
Among Us
One of the most talked about free online video games, Among Us is increasingly popular with Twitch streamers, Youtubers, and gamers. Join your ‘crewmates’ in a multiplayer game of teamwork and betrayal, as you must figure out who the alien imposter could be. It could be you, it could be your teammate. Whoever it is, one crewmate has been replaced by a parasitic shapeshifter, and the rest of the crew must be eliminated. This must be done before the ship reaches home. The Imposter will sabotage the ship, sneak through vents, deceive and frame others to remain anonymous and kill off the crew.
Just bear in mind that while everyone is fixing up the ship, noone can talk to maintain anonymity. Once a body is reported, the surving crew will then discuss who they think the Imposter will be. If the Imposter is not voted off, then everyone will go back to maintaining the ship until another body is found. However, if the Imposter is voted off, then the crew wins. Created in 2018, this popular online video game burst into popularity during COVID-19, and Among Us 2 was announced in 2020. With four maps available, there is a spaceship called “The Skeld”; a headquarters building called “MIRA HQ”; a planet base called “Polus”; or “The Airship”, which is based on Innersloth’s Henry Stickmin series.
Inspired by the party game ‘Mafia’ and Science Fiction horror film ‘The Thing’, its initial release was a slow burner, due to poor marketing, but a vocal fan base and attention from well-known creators boosted this game into mainstream attention. In each game’s lobby, various options can be adjusted to customize aspects of gameplay. This includes player movement speed, spacesuit colours, hats, pets and the allowed number of emergency meetings.
Fall Guys
A fan of retro-style modern games, that are infused in nostalgia? Then Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the game for you.Released for Microsoft Windows and Playsation 4 in August 2020, up to 6o players control jellybean like creatures. They must compete against each other in a series of challenges such as obstacle courses or tag. With some levels being team based, and some being solo orientated, you must keep your balance, dodge things that are in your way, and try not to fall off, to qualify for the next round. Make sure you don’t fall into the slime either because that is a real sucker! There are a limited number of players that can qualify, and with each round as the game progresses, the number gets lower.
It can be difficult to win at first, but once you get the hang of it, the sheer elation of being crowned Fall Guys ultimate winner is thrilling. Taking inspiration from game shows like Takeshi’s Castle, Wipeout, the game has seasonal changes, which adds more challenges. The current fourth season is future themed, with a retro style. One of the most fun aspects of the game is customizing your character. Costumes range from Sonic the Hedgehog (from his franchise), Jacket from Hotline Miami and P-Body from Portal 2. Other previous game themes have included a medieval theme, a winter theme and the original season gameshow theme. Because of its popularity, it will now become available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, due this year.
