I can’t believe it has been nearly 5 months since I first started reviewing Degustabox. From the good, the bad and all the bits in between, Degustabox has taken me on one hell of a journey. So far I have been treated to goodies from brands like Cadbury’s, Zeo and more and while last months box was the lowest rated so far, I was optimistic that the picnic edition was going to be one of Degustabox’s best boxes yet. Oh boy was I right, it had everything you could want from a box; alcohol, chocolate, sweets , popcorn and more. In fact I was practically salivating and was not sure how I would be able to last three weeks without eating the box, which is when my next shoot was scheduled. Needless to say I did not keep my hands to myself and ate pretty much every single thing in the box, before stuffing the wrappers with tissues so it looked like I hadn’t been a greedy pig. After all empty packets are never as appetizing as the real thing right?
Because May’s box was the ‘picnic edition’ I was expecting to see some cheeky sweet treats and boy was I in for a bloody treat. I feel like I might be the candy whisperer because all the chocolate and candy that I could ever want was sitting there in the box, waiting for me to devour them whole. Speaking of candy…
Cadbury Dairy Milk Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp (£3.49)
I practically wept when I saw this beauty in my Degustabox, because what could scream picnic more than chocolate? As a lover of all things peanut and caramel, the flavors married together wonderfully and was ideal for sharing- although I didn’t share mind. The large portion size meant that the bar would be sickly if you consume too much chocolate in one go but for me, the crunchiness of the peanut offset the sticky caramel perfectly. I might have almost wept at seeing the peanut caramel crisp in the picnic box, but got even more excited when I learned that there was an ‘oreo’ version as well. Y’all know how much I love my oreos!
While the ‘big taste’ bar is far more than I would normally pay for a bar of chocolate, at 300 G, the price is well worth its merit.
Would I Buy It Again?
That Question should be illegal…
Zeo-Soft-Drinks: Peach and Grapefruit
Zeo’s all natural. low calorie soft drinks sure pack a punch. Blended with natural fruit juices, exotic botanicals and a splash of spring water, I received the ‘peach and grapefruit’ flavour which instantly reminded me of summer. Whether you choose to drink the ZEO cans solo or want to mix them with a cheeky tipple, the fizziness feels refreshingly vibrant on a warm summers day.
Would I Buy It Again?
The first thing you want to do when you get home from work is relax and the Zeo peach and graepfruit sure helped me unwind. Plus, the fact that it is a natural drink but still fizzy was enough to send me over the edge, especially since most fizzy drinks have caffeine which I can’t have.
Crabbies Original Alcholic Beer
I am not a massive fan of ginger beer to be honest as it is an aquired taste so needless to say I was not too excited about trying the Crabbies version. Like I expected I wasn’t keen on the flavour and while I love ginger, ginger beer is a no no for me. In all honesty this was the only item in my box that I was not keen on, if they had replaced it with a delicious chilled mojito then this could have been the perfect box.
Would I Buy It Again
If you saw my face right now then it would be pretty evident what my answer would be. In case you are curious… the answer is no.
Millions Chocolate Covered Strawberry x 2
What girl doesn’t love chocolate covered strawberries and I am no exception. Unlike their fruit counterpart the millions are not quite as juicy but nevertheless are just as delicious. Covered in chocolate casing, the ‘twist on the old favourite’ million makes them stand apart from the crowd. While normal millions are great there is something about chocolate strawberry millions that truly tickle my tastebuds.
Would I Buy Them Again?
Priced at just 50 P, these millions are well worth the small change.
Millions Sour Strawberry
While these sour Millions might not be covered in chocolate, the sourness truly makes them pop in your mouth and is well worth the sour taste. If you are a fan of sour sweets- which I am- then sucking on these millions will make your tastebuds tingle.
Would I Buy It Again
Cheap, delicious and bad for you? What more could you want?!
Cereal Lovers Crunch Time Nuggets In Forest
While most people would eat their cereal with milk, having these ‘nugget style’ cereals means that it is far more respectable to eat them on their own, without anyone judging you. The ‘forest’ flavour was reminiscent of ‘granola’ and was sweet yet not too sickly, striking the perfect balance between the two. Before I knew it the nuggets were gone as quickly as they came and were a true testament to how much I had enjoyed the Crunch Time Forest Nuggets.
Would I Buy It Again?
At £1.49, the crunch nuggets are fairly cheap and come in resealable pouches, which make them handy to munch on at a later date.
Hippeas In Herbs We Trust: Chickpea Puffs
These organic ‘chickpea’ puffs are like nothing I have tried before; shaped like wotsits but far better for your diet, the chickpea puffs are what I would call revolutionary. I use chickpeas in a lot of dishes but would have never dreamed up something as ‘extra’ as chickpea puffs. Somehow it works and they taste absolutely delicious. I can imagine that these would go down well with kids and it is certainly a snack that works well for all the family.
Would I Buy It Again?
At £1.50 the price is not too shabby , especially since it is organic so I think that it is well worth the extra cost.
Candy Kitten Sweets: Eton Mess
When it comes to ‘sweets’, I am often unable to eat them, because many of them have gelatine in which I cannot have as a vegetarian. So I wasn’t surprised to find that the Eton Mess candies were not vegetarian as they contained beef gelatine. That being said my photographer tried them and said that they reminded him of sweets he had as a kid but in grown up form. He praised the likeness to Eton Mess and loved the funky mess.
Would I Buy It Again
Unfortunately not as I am a vegetarian but I know that they do have a new watermelon flavour that is meant to be vegan friendly so I would be up for trying that out.
Homepride Strong White Bread Flour
Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread and I was excited to receive ‘bread flour’ in my picnic box. That being said, I live in a house where the kitchen is having issues with its cooking facilities so I was unable to make bread in time for this review but this is something that I am looking forward to trying in future.
Would I Buy Again?
If I learn how to make bread and my oven starts working then yes absolutely!
Raw Bean Bean Bags Striking El-Salvador
Known as the first ‘pyramid coffee bag’ Raw Bean Bean bags, claims to deliver ‘a weekend coffee experience’ every day. Sadly being allergic to caffeine meant I couldn’t enjoy their weekend experience but I did pass them along to my photographer who said it tasted far better than filter coffee and that he even got 3 cups worth of coffee from one bag alone! Now is that savvy spending or what? I wish that they had a decaf version so that I could try out their coffee bags but I am delighted that my photographer was so keen!
Would I Buy Again
Please give me some decaf coffee bags and I will be your friend for life… LOL
Deli Kitchen Skinni Wrap
The ‘skinni wraps’ from Deli Kitchen are low in calories and come in a unique and easy shape to fold. While the wraps were a little thin for my liking, the wraps were nevertheless a great meal alternative and was a little lighter on my stomach which is always a blessing. Fibre and carbs can trigger my stomach and dietary issues so the skinni wraps were satisfying and good for my stomach.
Would I Buy It Again?
They made a pleasant meal and snack, what’s not to love?
Portlebay Popcorn sweet-thai-sriracha-kracklecorn
Made using 100 % natural ingredients, Portlebay’s popcorn is full of flavour without the need for processed ingredients. Half of the range is vegan, while all the kracklecorn’s are gluten free, making it an inclusive treat for all. As someone who is a huge Thai fan, the sweet Thai mixed with sriracha had the perfect blend of spice and all things nice, while the kracklecorn had a crunch and a softness to it that I can only describe as heavenly.
Would I Buy It Again?
Yes, there is no question about it. The flavoring was incredible!
Moma Foods Gluten Free Raspberry and Coconut Bircher Muesli
No picnic is complete without some good old fashioned muesli and who better than ol’ Moma? Made with raspberry and coconut, the bircher muesli is gluten free making it suitable for all. Similar to overnight oats- but without the overnight soaking, these bircher oats can be made in so many different ways. If you want to keep it simple then milk or a dairy free alternative is ideal, while some extra time on your hands can lead you to using milk, yoghurt and apple juice to soak in for 5-10 minutes before golfing the whole thing in the space of a few seconds. I have to admit it was quite delicious and was a great snack to watch Love Island.

What Would You Take With You On A Picnic?
David Elliott says
Ana, this box looks like it should have been banned for all the crazy good stuff they have in it. I do not know. It does look quite amazing. Usually, I find one or two things in a box kind of cool, but I could easily purchase almost all of this box. My one curiosity was with the skinny wraps. So, I know you said they were thin. Did you try to actually wrap them around something, and did it fall apart too easily? And if you ate them without trying to wrap them around something, did you put anything with it like almond butter or something? Anyway, great post. Must keep away from the Cadbury . . . that looks really dangerous.

I had to smile when I read your response to the question of you’d buy Millions Sour Strawberry again. “Cheap, delicious and bad for you? What more could you want?!” That’s a winner. Haha. I love sour candies too. Thank you for your honest review of all the products you received.

It’s funny how when I see it on your blog it looks much better than how it’s looking in my house. The sweet treats I loved but not much else as the majority I have received previously so was looking for new items

I love how honest you are in your first paragraph – stuffing the empty wrappers with tissues to pad them out for the photo shoot is hilarious 😛 Sounds like a fantastic box though, making up for the disappointing last box you received x
