After recent events, the prospect of finding something ‘positive’ to say about this week can almost seem daunting. After all, from the bombings in Manchester to the terror attack in London, the public might find it hard to find something to smile about. But I believe in the power of ‘positivity’, that out of bad good will arise and we will stand united even in the face of destruction. I want you to tell someone that you love them each day and smile warmly at the person next to you, even if they are a stranger. But most of all, I want you to find the things that make you happy because life is too short to live in fear.
I don’t want to live in a world where I have to watch my back or worry about what tomorrow might bring, instead I want to focus on the things that make me happy and you should too. While my readers know about the 10 things that do make me happy, finding weekly favorites can help us inject joy into our lives, no matter what day of the week it is, which is so important for our current state of mind. So look back at your week and think of all the good things that happened to you or even find a few things that have made you happy. Whether that be something as simple as a chocolate bar, hold onto that positivity and use it to help you feel more happy. No matter how small your weekly favourite may be, use it to help center you. Above all let us be grateful for what we have because we never know how much time we have left.
It might seem trivial to state that a ‘handbag’ could ever make me happy but after the drama of the past two weeks, nothing makes me happier than a beautiful, almost whimsical handbag. The juxtaposition between the duck egg blue and the ‘Barbie’ pink, adorned with a sugary pink bow almost reverts back to childish reverence, which I for one ‘live for’. While navy and black may denote the colours of ‘sophistication’, as a maven of colour, I am naturally attracted to ‘happy’ bright colours and after all what could make you happier? I remember having a similar bag as a kid and it would not leave my side until it was lost many moons ago. Having this beautiful bag pop through my door- especially in the wake of recent events, almost made me shed happy tears. I am truly grateful that my job offers me opportunities like ‘blogger mail’ and it honestly makes me working in a job that I dislike far more worth it.
After all, this bag is not just a symbol of colour and happiness but a look back into my personal timeline. While I didn’t have the ‘happiest’ upbringing, finding things in my adult life that remind me of what it was like to be a child makes me long for that childhood innocence once again. Besides, who dosent love to ‘play’ at being a child once again?

2. Cadbury Oreo Peanut Butter Cadbury Bar
When I first received this in my Easter Degustabox, I almost wept with happiness. They say that chocolate can make anything feel better and I believe they are right. While others turn to ice cream when they are upset, chocolate is my ultimate vice and it truly is a burst of happiness that we could all do with right now. Admittedly chocolate is unhealthy but I believe that everything in moderation is nourishing for the soul. As a fan of both peanut butter and oreos, this has to be quite honestly the second best ‘chocolate -fusion’ flavour I have ever tasted and yes it does transport me to my ‘happy place’. The way that it melts and crumbles in my mouth is like a feast for the senses and if I could, I would eat at least 5 of these everyday. Unfortunately I have to eat ‘real food’ (boo!) but never fear precious chocolate bar, mamas waiting…

3. Inflatable Swans, Donuts, You Name It I’ve Got It
I have a confession to make, I am obsessed with all things inflatables right now, which might prove tricky considering my aesthetic is street art. But, as readers will know, from reading my collaboration with Prezzybox, I like to think outside of the box , thus taking readers into my imaginary reality, where that wall is actually the beach and I am actually floating in the sea. Of course what I am actually doing is sitting in a swan in the middle of Shoreditch, pretending I can’t see all the drunk people trying to get a slice of the action, but shhh noone needs to know! I have some ‘donuts’ and flamingos ( all inflatable of course) coming my way but my all time favourite inflatable has to be the *massive swan, which is currently chilling in my bedroom, looking at me petulantly because it wants to go on holiday. Sorry Swan, you have to settle with being on my blog for the time being.
It’s rather strange to say that swans can make us happy, when the real swans can be gripey, cold but majestic. In inflatable form though, they are cute ASF and thinking of my beauty this week has got me in the mood for a beach party, which never fails to put a smile on my face!

Just thinking of three things that have made you happy this week can really help to lift your mood and in the aftermath of recent events we could all do with a dose of ‘happy’. Whether you are happy because you won the lottery or found a new friend, think of at least one thing that has made you happy this week, to turn that frown upside down. And if all else fails, go find some cute cat videos on Youtube, because that never fails to put a smile on my face! Unless you are evil and don’t like cats, in which case we can’t be friends anymore. Sorry ’bout it’ #notsorry.

Those Cadbury Oreo’s look absolutely marvelous. They look similar to ones I get during Halloween for my daughter. But these really do look amazing. I will have to find out where they are at.

That swan is the bomb hahha! What made me happy? This might sound cheesy but what made me happy is that I realized I can do what makes me happy without caring much about what others think. Simple as that x

I couldn’t help but smile this week when I was at the pool and saw a little girl with a floaty nearly identical to yours! I kid you not, I thought about you right on the spot. A few things on my happy list from the week: rosé on somebody else’s back deck, mud between my ties, and the first swig of summer root beer
Denay DeGuzman says
I love this sweet post! What makes me happy is waking up to a sunshiny day with the birds singing and everything green outside. It makes me happy to look out at the pool with it’s sparkling waters even though the temperature is still too cool to jump in and enjoy it. In April when I was in Mexico, I purchased a giant inflatable Pegasus to float on. It joined the giant flamingo that my husband bought for me last September. Sometimes is the little things in life that bring us so much happiness and make us smile inside and out! 🙂
