January 9, 2017

Apricot’s Sales

As we ring in the new year-albeit eight days later- we empty our purses and be merry and free. Down the hatchet the wine goes, the feet are dancing , the hands are swaying. If your anything like me then you would have spent the whole night dancing, with carefree abandonment, until you stagger home with sore feet. Its the next morning and you’re feeling hungover, you clutch your head and stare into space. The thought of another night out gives you the shudders but its the January Sales and you promised yourself a new wardrobe. So you go online in search of your ‘wardrobe soulmate’ , hoping to find the perfect outfit to distract you from your woozy head. After all, you tell yourself, everything feels better with a good ol’ New Year splurge, right? At least that is how you justify your spending habits…

Shop The Look

You click through site after site, hoping to find gold at the end of the fashion rainbow. It seems so dire, your options are running out but you don’t want to face the commotion outside. As if by magic the fairies have listened and  your luck has turned. Lo and behold your new fashion savior; meet Apricot, the one stop shop for all things fancy, casual and in between. Your eyes grow wide and your heart seems to stop, you found the site of your dreams and the spending possibilities become endless. You might be dead drunk but your pretty sure you know what your doing. So you scroll through page after page, looking for sale items to make your heart race.

As if by chance, the 5 magic numbers materialize across your screen and your smile grows even wider. Up to 75% off Sale, surely you must be dreaming? Your hangover seems to disappear by the second as the mix of retro, casual and formal wear dances before your eyes. Oooh a £15 black and silver baroque skirt, reduced from £32? Not too shabby but an even bigger steal might be this cream long haired faux fur cropped jacket. At just £15 reduced from £39, your Apricot binge is only just beginning. So you got yourself two fancy items for £30 but you feel that something is missing, you need something a little more casual to whet your appetite. Well, look no further than Apricot and their stunning range of floral blouses, tapping into 2017’s retro revival phase. Feeling 70’s? Then this green and pink daisy print shirt  should tickle your pickle. Maybe you are after something a little fancier, might I recommend an 80’s pussybow blouse, after all they are the symbol of female emancipation. How kick ass is that?

Your head is spinning and your fingers are cramping, all this sale shopping has got you caught up in a spell. You sigh and lust after every single sale item, hoping that one day unlimited money will be at your disposal. Still you can’t complain, three outfits under £60 is not too bad at all and you can’t help but feel like the cat who has got the cream. As your laptop closes for another day, you sigh with contentment, awaiting your parcels like a kid on Christmas day. You count down the days anxiously, waiting for your goodies to come home. Its a few days later and the postman knocks, like a kid you skid downstairs. You run to the door and the parcels seem to sparkle and glitter; you rip the Apricot parcels open there and then. The beauties have arrived and your day is complete.

Your day becomes a fashion show and you forget about everything else, waltzing in your new clothes you feel at ease. Tomorrow is another day full of responsibilities and strife but for now you live in the moment. The jacket fits like a glove and the top feels like second skin. It is the skirt that captures a new feeling though, the desire to dance until sunrise. Solo or partnered up, you couldn’t care less, can a partner make you feel as strongly as you do about fashion? Your eyes begin to drop and you drift into a peaceful slumber, sated by the January sales you are content at last.

Looks like Apricot does offer great items at awesome drop down prices. I have not heard of them until now, and I would probably be buying an item or two from them. A new outfit every now and then is not splurging, not with Apricot!

You look gorgeous my dear Ana !! I do most of my shopping in January because of the huge sales and I think it`s totally worth it. I ordered the baroque midi skirt as well and I can`t wait to style it. Kisses

There are some gorgeous items there, and always good to see good value. It is what we like having just spent probably more than we should have in December. Not heard of Apricot, but certainly worth checking out now.
