The Little Chapel,Guernsey Channel Islands.The Little Chapel at Saint Andrew, Guernsey was originally built in March 1914 by Brother Deodat. modelled on the basilica at Lourdes. After much criticism from the other brothers he demolished the original building and completed a second version in July 1914. However in 1923 the Bishop of Portsmouth visited but could not fit though the door! Disillusioned Brother Deodat again demolished the chapel and started construction of the current third version soon after. Sadly Brother Deodat went to France in 1939 where he died and did not see final completion of his chapel. It is the world’s smallest consecrated church measuring 16 feet x 9 feet. It is decorated both inside and outside with broken coloured china donated buy islanders.
